Meet the Tapawingo Staff


Brad Schmidt, Operational Manager:  Brad has been serving as Operation Manager since 1997. Brad is responsible for the day to day operations of Camp Tapawingo as well as implementing strategies and vision to keep Tapawingo a place of joy for our guests.  
Brad and Jane have been married since 1988 and have raised two sons.  When Brad is not finding leaks in the water system he likes to find new places to travel, new places to eat, and time to spend with his family.

Jane Schmidt, Food Service & Program Director:  Jane has worked as Food Service Director since 1998 and as Program Director since 2014.  In addition to food service, Jane is responsible to support the vision strategies of Camp Tapawingo through program and staff development. Jane has been married to Brad since 1988 and together they have raised two sons. Jane enjoys good conversations, reading and writing, planning the next vacation and time spent with friends and family.



Bryan Crocker, Assistant Manager:  Bryan joined the Tapawingo Team on September 1, 2022.  Bryan will be working in all areas of the Tapawingo Ministry.  Bryan formerly worked as a Realtor and Firefighter/EMT. He’s a First Aid/CPR Instructor and a lifeguard for camp. Bryan loves spending time with his wife, Molly, their two young boys and being outdoors.  
Marlene Badger, Gardner Extraordinaire: Marlene has been a fan of Camp Tapawingo since she attended as a camper. Marlene joined our staff in 2015 and returned in 2021. Marlene makes everything beautiful, paints, cleans and cooks with Jane.
Marlene enjoys gardening and going for walks.

Jennifer Hanks, Housekeeping. Jennifer joined the Tapawingo Staff in 2019 and cleans the interior buildings like a boss! Jennifer commutes from her home where she lives with her husband, Steve. Jennifer and Steve raised two sons.
In Jennifer’s spare time she enjoys reading, cooking and watching movies.
