Lindsey Shimel, Camp Director

Lindsey currently works as a teacher at Indian Hills Elementary School in Hillsboro. She has a love of children of all ages, and has spent the majority of the last two decades volunteering with the children and youth ministries of her church. This summer will mark her 27th camp season at Tapawingo! Lindsey grew in her faith through her experiences as a camper, and firmly believes that Tapawingo is a place where students learn to deepen their walks with Jesus
When Lindsey is not at camp, she enjoys spending time with her family (especially her amazing nephews and niece), completing puzzles, listening to audiobooks, and sleeping in on the weekends. She is excited to see God at work this summer!

Jill Williams, Junior Camp Speaker

Jill has spent the better part of the last decade working with students at every level; PreK through High, as a licensed school counselor and a Student Ministries Pastor. She and her family attend The Refuge in Philomath, where she oversees all student ministries, coordinating Sunday programs infant through 4th grade, and leading the junior high youth group each week. She has a husband of nearly 17 years, a sixth grade son, and a freshman daughter. As you can imagine, she stays busy!

Jill enjoys riding dirt bikes and camping with her family. She is a big fan of the Knights, and gets pretty worked up about OSU baseball and football. She loves working with people and building relationships, and really enjoys recharging on her country property surrounded by goats, dogs, and chickens. She is honored to join the Camp Tapawingo Team this year and eager to see how God is working through the Camp’s ministry.
